Abu Dhabi - United Arab Emirates This picture was taken while we were on the roof of the American Embassy in Abu Dhabi, The United Arab Emirates. This photo was taken on the last day in country. I'm on the right, our team leader is on the left. |
Gabarone - Botswana This picture was taken on the "Old Town Mall" in Gabarone, Botswana. There was an open air market we attended each weekend during the 3 weeks we were in country. We were there in July, their Winter - as you can see, it wasn't that cold. |
Cairo - Egypt This picture was taken on my first trip through Cairo, Egypt. We were more or less walking on the lower steps of the Great Pyramid. This picture was taken on Thanksgiving day, 1988 - I'll never forget that Thanksgiving. By the way, that's me with my back to the camera. |
Abu Dhabi - United Arab Emirates Okay, this mess of a picture was taken on a road trip through the desert from Abu Dhabi to Doha. We had run out of much needed wiring and the only place in the entire country that had what we needed was over 4 hours away. So, off we went to find this stuff. |
West Berlin - West Germany This picture was taken across the street from Checkpoint Charlie in West Berlin while the wall was still up. We decided to give ourselves a little "diplomatic immunity" by switching license plates. We became diplomats with a screwdriver. |
West Berlin - West Germany The Allied Checkpoint called Charlie in West Berlin. We went through this checkpoint everyday for two weeks. Got stopped a few times because of who we were and we still had a blast. Near this location stood a guard tower. |
Dhaki - Bangladesh This picture was taken in Dhaka, Bangladesh at our guest house. We had been riding on the rickshaws for a few days and decided we needed better transport. So, we sorta bought four motorcycles. The guys in the back were Guesthouse workers that did our cleaning, laundry, cooked our food, chased away the Cobras and all of that. |
Liverpool - England Mathew Street in Liverpool England is the location of this picture. I wanted to go to the home of the Beatles and Echo And The Bunnymen. I found it boring as hell actually. We joined the International John Lennon Pub Club. |
Liverpool - England We were lost. We kept following these signs until we found Mathew Street and the Cavern Club. We must have walked for hours. It was a fun day actually. Walking the same Streets as Ian, Will, Les and Pete - Echo And The Bunnymen that is. Of course the Beatles walked these same streets but I wasn't there for them. |
Muscat - Oman I loved this place. We were on a trek to find this little inlet from the Gulf. We had to Range Rovers that we beat the hell out of, almost tipped them over a few times but we had a great time. About 5 feet behind where I stand is a 200 foot drop to nothing. Needless to say, if I look a bit nervous, I was. I liked Oman so much, I went back twice. |
